“Without your functional integration work on me, it would have been difficult to do the activities I love … like alpine skiing, tennis, x-country skiing and golf. We need more people like you out there to spread the good news of new methods of effective physical therapy.” – H.M. Stephenson, MD, FRCP (C)

Vision is the primary sense through which we experience the world. However, for many of us the quality and clarity of their vision often weakens and degrades. Fortunately we can learn to recognize and eliminate many habits which interfere with easy, effortless vision while applying new skills that will transform the use of our eyes, helping us to see more clearly.
In this Feldenkrais Method® Exploration of Vision you will learn strategies to:
Eliminate strain and muscular tension in the eyes
Enhance the overall health of your eyes
Improve the quality and clarity of your vision

THE BRAIN’S WAY OF HEALING by Dr. Norman Doidge, MD.
“A BLIND MAN LEARNS TO SEE:
USING FELDENKRAIS, BUDDHIST AND OTHER
NEUROPLASTIC METHODS.”
“Your eyes, vision and brain are waiting quietly, almost eagerly, to get better and improve. By accessing the remarkable, and natural, ability of your brain to change, improve and heal itself we can relearn to improve virtually the whole visual system and rediscover the joy of seeing the world around us as fresh, clean and clear.”

FOR THOSE ATTENDING THE WORKSHOP:
Please arrive 20 minutes early have time to register and settle in.
Please bring an exercise mat with you (Pilates or yoga style). We will be working on a hard wood floor. Using a thick mat or multiple thin mats together and or blankets to support you will help you stay comfortable throughout the workshop.
We will break for an hour and fifteen minute lunch around 12:30 each day. You are welcome to bring your own or explore the area’s many food options. There will also be a short mid-morning and mid-afternoon break when light snacks and bottled water will be provided.
Please wear loose comfortable clothing that will not restrict your movement or your ability to breathe freely. The room is very large so you might want to bring an extra layer of clothing in case you need it.
If you wear glasses please bring a hard case for safe storage during the lessons. If you wear contact lenses, leave them at home and wear glasses when you need them for getting around. None of the lessons in the Seeing Clearly workshop will require the use of these aids.
One key to allowing ourselves to change our habits of seeing and vision is to experience these lessons without the limitations imposed on our eyes when we wear corrective lenses, glasses or contact lenses. This will give your eyes and brain a chance to adapt and relearn to function in their natural effortless state. This is the foundation for spontaneous improvement in a healing process.
You are welcome to bring a small notebook and pen to record notes, impressions, thoughts or ideas (between lessons or during breaks) that you may want to recall after the workshop.
Most of all – bring good heart, good humour and a spirit of exploration and discovery.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
